Plan of Salvation file folder presentation

 If I can ever figure out how to flip this image, it would look a lot better, but this is what I made.  A Plan of Salvation flow chart complete with velcro and a separate spiritual body and physical body that can me attached.

 

The first thing you will need to do is collect your supplies.  You will need:  double-sided tape, 3 manila file folders, paper, 1 transparency sheet, self-adhesive laminating sheets, sticky-backed velcro circles, and permanent markers.  You will also need a paper cutter and scissors.

Step 1--Trim off the uneven ends.

 Step 2--Cut each file folder in half.  Make sure each piece has a fold.

 

Step 3--Take 2 halves and trim them to be a perfect square.  Make sure that you trim the top and to NOT cut off the fold!

 It should look like this when you are done.

Step 4--Now you are going to make an accordion out of the remaining 4 file folder pieces.  Open one file folder piece, and lay it flat on the table.  Open the second and turn it over so it looks like a tee-pee.  Line up the top of the second with the fold of the first, and secure with a piece of double-sided tape.

Now take the third folder, open and lay it flat.  Put the unattached part of the second folder on top of the third folder.  Line the bottom of the second folder with the fold of the third folder.  Attach with a piece of double-sided tape.

Now take the fourth folder, open and turn it over like a tee-pee. Place the top of the fourth on the bottom of the third folder.  Line up the top of the fourth with the fold of the third.  Secure with a piece of double-sided tape.

 Step 5--Lay the attached accordion pieces flat in front of you.  Open the two squares you cut.  Lay them flat and slip them under the last piece of the fourth folder.  Both sides of the fourth folder should line up with the fold of the square pieces.  Attach both pieces with double sided tape.

 This is what it should look like now.

Step 6--Trace and cut out your man from the transparency film.  You don't have to use transparency film, but you will need some kind of durable, clear plastic.  Maybe you could use a sheet protector.

Step 7--Trace and cut your man out of paper.

Step 8--Decorate you spirit body with a face (this is where the permanent pen is really important).  Our spirits are who we are, thus the personality is in the face.  Put clothes and hair of the paper cut out of the man.  Your body is only your physical features.

 Step 9--Now you label and decorate each piece of the file folder display.  Starting at the top, the first one is your spirit.  Second is the Pre-mortal existence.  Third is Earth.  Fourth is the Spirit world.  Fifth is labeled Final Judgement with the Telestial (brightness of the stars), the Terrestrial (brightness of the moon), and Celestial (brightness of the sun).

Step 10--(Sorry, again about the picture)  Start laminating everything.  Cut the sheets to be the exact height of the the folder piece but have enough to wrap around the sides.  This secures the two different pieces of the file-folder accordion together.

Step 11--With some of the cut-off excess, laminate the physical body. Cut the body out.

Step 12--Cut each velcro piece in half and adhere each half to the different parts of the display.  Don't forget to put some on the FRONT of the physical body.

Put the opposite side of the velcro onto the BACK  of both the physical and spiritual bodies.

  The whole presentation goes something like this:

Before you were born, you lived in Heaven with Heavenly Father.  He was wonderful and loving, and you wanted more than anything to be like Him.  You had your spirit body, but He had this amazing physical body.  You really wanted to have a body like that.

Then, your older brother, Jesus Christ, presented Heavenly Father's plan for us.  He wanted to give us a chance to have a physical body like His.  He would create a place for us to come and receive a body.  On this earth He created, we would have the ability to choose to follow Heavenly Father's teaching and live again with Him, or we could choose to indulge the natural desires our body would crave and not live with Heavenly Father again.

Now, when we came to earth, it wouldn't be too much of a test if we had all the answers, so a veil of forgetfulness would be placed over our minds to test our inner-soul as to how well we were going to truly follow Heavenly Father. 

 When you came to earth, your spirit body and your physical body came together.  You have experienced many trials and tests.   You are learning how to control those natural desires of your physical body, and you are choosing whether you are going to follow Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

 At some point, all men die.  When they die, their spirit and their body separate.  Your body stays on earth, and your spirit goes to heaven or the spirit world where we await the Final Judgement of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.  All men who have ever lived will experience a resurrection--where the spirit and the physical body will once again be reunited and will never again be separated. (see 1 Corinthanians 15:21-22; Isaiah 26:19)

At the Final Judgement, we will go to one of the kingdoms Heavenly Father has prepared for His children:  the telestial kingdom, which has the brightness of the stars; the terrestrial kingdom, which has the brightness of the moon, or the celestrial kingdom, which has the brightness of the sun.
